Welcome Bo

Introducing "Bo"! Born Tuesday, Nov 2 at 8:21 AM. 7lb 10oz, 19 inches long. He is beautiful and Kara is doing really well. They are both home today. I always worry about anything and everything that could happen during pregnancy whenever someone in my family is pregnant, so it is a very nice relief to have the babies here safe, sound and healthy. Here are some of the pictures I took that day.
Kara and Bo in the recovery room. Since Kara has C-sections, she has to go to recovery for a short time. Both did very well and they were quite relaxed about having Phil and myself in there with her.
Proud daddy! Phil thinks that Bo has a lot of Tarbet in him but I think he looks like Phil.

In the delivery room. Bo had great color right from the beginning.

The cord is cut. C-sections require two physicians for the delivery. The one here holding Bo isn't Kara's OB. You can see that Bo has Phil's hair line. Phil thinks that Bo has Brooks hair line but Brooks doesn't have any hair on top of his head. Bo's hair is really receding.
Waiting for it all to begin. We had to arrive at 5:30 AM that day. We were all exhausted by the end of the day. If you are wondering why I was there for the whole thing I'll explain. Phil really struggles with the sight and smell of the C-section. When Jaxon was born, Phil almost ended up on the floor, so as a result, Phil waits outside of the OR and peeks in the window when he can and I go in to support Kara. I found it tough with Jax because he was a difficult delivery and neither he nor Kara did very well at first. I had decided that I didn't want to experience it again because I knew too much to worry about and I didn't think that I could deal with it, but Kara asked me to since Phil really struggled. I'm glad that I did. Bryn and Bo, along with Kara did really well and I kind of like knowing what's going on and not waiting at home just worrying.

  1. Congrats to everyone! I see Phil won out on the spelling of the name??

    I can't believe she's home so quick. That's impressive!

  2. Congratulations! One more beautiful grand baby. I know exactly how you feel! I went in for the birth of Ariel's little Grey. I decided I never want to be in there again. All I did was worry about her and him and found myself a wreck when it was over. I don't think I worried this much when I had my own babies. Glad all worked out well.
