Happy Birthday to Me

Today is, or should I say, was my birthday. I am getting old but that is not why I am posting today. I have had a very nice day. It really started last night.

We spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Jackson, Wyoming. This was our annual trip with our kids and grand kids minus a few this year. We had a lot of fun just doing the regular things that we always do when we go. This year was Jaxon's first year to float the river. He said that he liked it okay but he doesn't think that he will go again next year or the next and maybe not even the year after that. Jaxon was sitting front and center on the raft and so he really got the full experience! We also did some shopping, lots of eating, a little minature golf and then the Alpine slide. Kade and Jaxon got going a little too fast on their last trip down the slide and their cart came off the track. They got a little banged up but Jaxon thought it was still really fun!

So back to last night and my birthday. After we got home from Jackson, Brooks decided that we needed to make a trip to Logan to purchase my present! It was worth the trip and I got some really nice things. This morning we got up, got ready and left for church.................in Logan. This is where we will be attending church for the next three years. Brooks has been called as a Bishop, again. He will be a bishop of a married student ward. We are very humbled but excited at the same time. We are also quite nervous. My membership is going with him. It is really a calling for both of us. We still have a few loose ends to tie up here in our Lewiston ward but essentially we are done. I'm sure we will both be released from our jobs within the next few weeks. This seems to happen to us a lot. Just as soon as we think things are calming down, it all changes. We have again felt the Lords outpouring of love and much support from our families. After our sacrament meeting, my dear mom had us all over for food and birthday cake. It was delicious and much appreciated!
